What a wonderful world, talkin Louis Armstrong.
Trees of green and red roses too.
Remember when you were a kid learning red, yellow, and blue?
Then, you trick-or-treat on halloween while it’s black, and the stacks
Of chocolate, rich brown, I never frowned when Christmas came around.
And the reds and greens
Playing on the playground in the spring.
Girls pretend to be queens, with a gold tiara and pink dress.
Boys dunking orange basketballs seeing who could jump the best.
Colorful toys replaced with monotonous binders and papers and stupid calculators.
School becomes a dictator.
Making everyone blind.
But just venture outside the beige box and you’ll see color never left.
The sky still sky blue, and the clouds still lavender white.
Mocha brown coffee, and even the colors at night
That bronze harvest moon, and red and blue stars mix together to make red wine skies
Until morning, when the scarlet sun catches your eyes.
Emerald grass, aqua seas, obsidian mountains, lemon colored bumblebees-
-even in city
Pewter sidewalks, cobalt towers, vibrant candy apple fire hydrants.
Here’s some guidance.
Don’t worry.
Even though things can get blurry
Colors never leave because colors are life.
