Local Fort Worth chef Tim Love has opened up a brand-new tapas style restaurant and rooftop bar in the Stockyards area above the Springhill Suites by Marriott hotel. Ático, meaning attic in English, has panoramic views of the Stockyards and notable Fort Worth landmarks such as Amon G. Carter Stadium. While Ático does have a tapas menu, it is not a full restaurant. This easy-going lounge is quite opposite from Tim Love’s various other ventures in Fort Worth. The menu is limited, but tastefully curated for all to enjoy. The inspiration behind the rooftop tapas bar is Love’s appreciation for various rooftop establishments in Barcelona and the bar experience there. The menu features many Spanish inspired food and drink items. Some of these include: A Blood Orange Sangria and a Horchata Old Fashioned from the full bar as well as various food items such as Patatas Bravas, ham or brisket croquettes, Ibertico Secreto a pork dish. The bar, dining room, and patio seat around 80 people.

I was able to visit the rooftop on February 10th and felt the sense of Spanish inspiration by the way the bar was decorated. Spanish mission-style bricks create arches throughout, and the large glass roof allows for stunning views on sunny days. Luckily, Saturday was a beautiful sunny day with perfect weather to be on a rooftop tapas bar with friends. We decided to order several items to share in the middle, which is what they recommend. This is the perfect place for getting drinks with friends, grabbing some quick appetizers with a group of people or even for a casual date night. Beyond the creativity of the menu, the space is extremely inviting and casual yet fun.
